Tareq Mahmud, a dedicated public health enthusiast, is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) after completing a Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) in Public Health and Informatics from Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka. Engaging in diverse research roles, including positions at BBC Media Action, Panhellenic Medical Association, and the Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs (BCCP), he has contributed to groundbreaking projects in mental health, tobacco control, and crisis response. Proficient in data analysis tools like IBM SPSS, along with programming languages such as R and Python, Tareq excels in translating complex data into actionable insights.
As a former President of the Jahangirnagar University Science Club, he successfully fostered curiosity and collaboration, led various scientific initiatives, and mentored multiple university science clubs. His leadership extended beyond the university as he played an active role in the Bangladesh University Science Club Network, securing funding and organizing nationwide events. Additionally, his involvement with BADHAN, a voluntary blood donation organization, and the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) has further strengthened his skills in teamwork, communication, and advocacy.
With a primary interest in epidemiology, particularly within the realms of non-communicable diseases, stroke, mental health, and health informatics, Tareq is driven to contribute innovative solutions to public health challenges, fueled by a passion for continuous learning and knowledge dissemination.
